In mid-2023, Bettina, Maik, and I embarked on an exciting journey—a collaborative photography project that would unfold over the course of approximately one year. The concept was simple yet profound: I would document their lives through my lens, capturing the essence of our shared experiences in our hometown. Nestled within our community are a myriad of captivating locations, each brimming with historical, geographical, and tourist appeal, making them perfect backdrops for our photographic odyssey.
My initial encounter with Bettina and Maik occurred during a photography project focused on Low Key imagery, where they served as models. Their genuine interest in modeling blossomed from this experience, despite lacking formal training or prior expertise. It’s their natural allure and effortless charm that piqued my interest, as they effortlessly emanate beauty, resulting in stunning photographs. For them, participating in these sessions is not just about modeling; it’s a leisurely pursuit enriched with cherished memories. As a photographer, collaborating with them brings immense joy and satisfaction.
For our second session, we chose the majestic hunting lodge nestled within our town—a landmark steeped in history and adorned with vibrant hues and captivating reflections. Despite the overcast sky, the weather was pleasantly mild, providing ideal conditions for photography. Already, we’ve outlined plans for future shoots, including diverse locations and a special project set at our local train station—a venture that promises to be both ambitious and exhilarating.
